What is a QR code and why do we use it on our collar tags?

QR code (abbreviated from Quick Response Code) is the trademark for a type of two-dimensional barcode.
A barcode is a machine-readable optical label that contains information about the item to which it is attached.
A QR code uses four standardized encoding modes store data.

Because the QR code is errors resistant we use it on our collar tags. The code contains the chip number with a link.
Not everyone has a special RFID reader but many have a smartphone with a QR reade app. So nearly everyone can identify you as the pet owner.
The collar tag does NOT replace the microchip, it is a useful addition to it. Please remember to register the chip number e.g. at Tasso!

We store every number chips we sold in a database along with the buyers data. If the finder scans the code he can see the chip number and if he is familliar
with Tasso or the other databasses he can easily get in contact with you as the pet owner. But if he is not, he can contact us and we will gladely provide help.
Sometimes the chip number is not registered anywhere but since we save the buyers data there is a small chance to identify the owner.
